Short coffee shop ride with 2 buddies. Yes the place was open and we tipped them well for being open. Ride home with my buddies shooting the breeze .... PRICELESS !

I led a ride from Smallwood Park today. I had a group of ten or so, mostly Oxon Hill members with three or four Potomac Pedalers along as well. It was a beautiful day for riding - 50 degrees and sunny. Most of the group did the 25 mi route with me, but three opted for the 41 mi version.

Bought my wife a Felt FW40 for Christmas and we rode 20 miles. Her first road bike. I was quite proud of her.

Headed out to do laps of Prospect Park in Brooklyn now. Roads are dry and well lit. Had the family with me today. I'm going out for a few hours, and when I get home, I'll have a roast waiting for me!

Today, I must have gone for the shortest ride of my life! :p :crap:

Went out... Cloudy and moist out. The Weather Channel web site says 1% chance of rain for my area. Looked at the radar... fine; very few clouds.... Go out and less than 3 miles into the ride, I get dumped with heavy rain! What the f.... I say heck... It is x-mas for Christ Sake! and decide to turn around ending with an 8 mile loop!

Well, so much for that 1%, I think I will win the lottery before year's end!!!! :)

Cheers and Happy Holidays to you all!

Short road ride on the MTB (too much salt and crap on the road for my road bikes). I wish the traffic was always this light.

The weather in Austin was fine for riding but I had a very small window to sneak out between Christmas traditions and leaving for a quick trip to Houston.

Hopefully the calories I burned will help offset the big dinner including the caramel apple pie my wife made which I will eat tonight.

Merry Christmas all,

Old Fat & Slow

I'm in Clermont Fl for a week to ride w my son. It rained today but I still got in 25 mi. Tomorrow and Sat is going to be 80 deg. We lucked out with the weather. I also took my son for a quality bike fit today so we got a lot accomplished. Met Adam Baskin who is the local fit guru in the Orlando area. He is a nice guy and very knowledgeable.

Short ride on an old logging trail on the Surly. Felt really great to get outside after being cooped up inside doing the Holiday thing. I think I spent more time cleaning up the bike after than actually riding though.

25mi easy in Central Park. I thought about riding up to Nyack but figured the cafe (Runcible Spoon) would be closed. Turns out I was wrong! :crap: There were a ton of people in the park. I guess everyone was out enjoying the sun and 40+F weather.

First ride today in 6 weeks. Life, business travel, holidays, broken foot...all reasons (excuses). I rode about 16 miles in 65 degree weather here in Grapevine, TX (DFW).

Got a whole week off work, so this is my "kickstart".

The park is well lit enough, there are guys doing 30 MPH+ pacelines and pretty good visibility. It's great to have the parks. A real luxury.

Any other parks in the country where its well lit to ride at night?

Just rollers.

Unless the drive to Mark's Duck House counts.

Moderate temperatures in the low-40's and sunny.
Nobody showed at the LBS for a Christmas Day ride, so I completed 40 miles solo.
