The "new" forum has been up and running for about a year. During that time 4,145 threads have been started, but only 7 of those threads, approximately 1/5 of 1%, have received at least 4,000 views. What made these 7 threads so popular? What saved these 7 threads from a timely death? What do these 7 threads say about the members of this forum? Any thoughts?

1. Kerry on his Serotta. A discussion of the possibilities that we could have a real cyclist as President. http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=1792

2. Naked Pictures of Sandy. The title of the thread explains it all. It was also a shameless attempt by me to raise money for charity. http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=1956

3. Serotta v. Seven. A thread that actually discusses bicycles. But by the end of the thread we had the requisite name calling.

4. Serotta Legend v. Seven Axiom v. Moots Vamoots. Another thread on cycling that got heated by the end. Passion is an interesting thing.

5. Chain Lube. A cycling thread that did not result in name calling. We must be slipping, or we really care about chain lube. As a result, I guess that this thread goes to the Hall of Fame.

6. Why does the Jerk think that Titanium blows as a frame material. Another cycling thread that did not result in name calling. It must be the respect that we all have for Prof. Jerk. I guess that respect results in this thread going to the Hall of Fame.

7. Folsom Ca, LBS goes bad with a touch of road rage. This thread resulted in a discussion of a cycling jersey stained with breast milk. I suspect it made the Hall of Fame/Shame because we are really a group of perverts.

At the very least the list gives you the highlights and lowlights of the forum during the last year.

Happy Holidays and Happy Anniversary.

IŽd forgotten how entertaining the Folsom Ca thread was.

How many threads did the sherriff have to run out of town, that is how many did Alyson have to shut down? :no: And what were they? :confused:

I think this is the best incarnation of the forum so far :beer:

The Sheriff should have run us all out of town.

So we are a group of politically atuned perverts with a taste for fine bicycles and good lube who have yet to be completely run out of town by the Sheriff.

I love this place :banana: :beer: :D :p

I agree with all of you:

1. The sheriff should have run us all out of town;

2. We are a group of politically atuned perverts with a taste for fine bicycles and good lube;

3. The threads are very entertaining;

4. I also love this place.

I am also glad to see that this thread caused the resurgence of the chain lube thread.
