A teacher I used to work with helped get Will into riding when he was in the middle of high school. He used to RAVE about the boy's talent and potential; and did a ton to help him make it out to nationals (in Oregon) as a junior cross racer.
It's great to see him continuing to improve and succeed. And even cooler to think that the buddy of mine helped him along the way (as well as Josh Lipka and Sean Condron; both riders of considerable talent). I encourage those of you with similar opportunities to do what you can to help cultivate other young riders.

I saw this guy demolish the Virginia Cyclocross series. It scares me that he only came in eighth. The man lapped almost all the field and was putting in 26mph laps. It was not the strongest field, but it still had some good riders.

If riders are putting in 26mph laps, someone isn't designing the course right.

That, or VT grads can't do maths. I prefer to believe that, since the course did not feel much faster than some of our other races and also featured a strong headwind.
