Ok, I am steaming now.....

I am trying to find a handlebar for the Randonneur Weigle. Sounds simple? Think again. I need 44 outer-to-outer (42 c-c), classic bend, silver aluminum, grooves for Ergos, and 26mm clamp area.
Hey, I'm a big shot, I've got a load of bars. So:
Cinelli: 26.4 clamp....
3TTT: one groove and brown
Oval: black
Another 3T: so-called anatomic bend (which it isn't for me)

:crap:

And don't get me started on stems.... 1 inch ahead steerer, -17 angle and 26mm camp... I'v got more chances of landing a New Vanilla by this Christmas.

WHY THE FUKC CAN'T HANDLEBAR MAKERS SIT AT A TABLE AND CREATE STANDARDS???

Ok, off to search for *another* bar, and not for 130$, when they cost 60 when new....

There, feel better now.

Nitto Noodle? Or Nitto B-176? See here:

No grooves but that's not the end of the world for me:

I'd suggest Nitto Noodles or Grand Bois bars:

http://www.cyclesgrandbois.com/SHOP/GB_PM.html

Email them; they speak English and they ship fast.

Here in the US Jan Heine is now the distributor of GB stuff...

The Nittos are indeed fine, but...

"I need 44 outer-to-outer (42 c-c), classic bend, silver aluminum, grooves for Ergos, and 26mm clamp area".

I am building a Weigle, representing one the most accomplished bicycle forms, and I don't feel like compromising.
I mean, he spent hours if not days making sure everything is neatly packaged and tucked away, and I would put a bar with difform shapes from *not* having grooves that are so elegant? Why not slap a Profile tri-bar and a pink lycra clad saddle with back support on the bike (and ride in a Speedo and tank top)?

Can you feel I am still a touch irritated :argue:

What handlebar did Weigle put on there?

These. No logos, no bulges over the cables, no stupid bends...

Those are painted/powdercoated Dedas (or Ovals) I believe...

Here are the Grand Bois bars.

Again, at the risk of sounding unreasonable,

"I need 44 outer-to-outer (42 c-c), classic bend, silver aluminum, grooves for Ergos, and 26mm clamp area".

I am lucky enough to own many a bicycle, and I simply want this to be Purrrr-fect.
This is almost laughable, but I am set on that.

I don't believe you need grooves in the handlebars to duplicate this layout. In fact, I'm not at all sure this handlebar actually has grooves.

Why not contact Peter and find out what bar it is? You like it fine except for the width, right?

The Grand Bois bars are too narrow for the OP.

Oval Concepts makes a silver colored bar just like you describe (normal bend, 26.0 clamp, groove). If you don't like the silver coloring (JPW's bar is silver powdercoated, not aluminum), remove the anodizing and polish up the portion that is uncovered by the tape.

I just noticed the GBs are 25.4 too...

How about the Nitto 185 - silver, 26.0, round bend, single groove. Universal Cycles has them in three sizes:

Maybe a retailer in Switzerland can get you this model?

C'mon George. We want to see you make some!
You could start out with a piece of lawn furniture or perhaps some un-needed bit of BMW exhaust pipe, and use your impressive skills to transform that into an exquisite handlebar that is perfectly suited to the Weigle. I mean, you've got all winter, right? :)
