It is making it's way across Montana, through the Dakotas and in to the Twin Cities.

I can't say enough about what a great experience it has been working with Dave.

It will get built up over winter and I will post photos and a ride report at a later time (there is no way this baby is having it's maidon voyage in the crud of Minnesota winter conditions). In the meanwhile, it may serve as artwork over the fireplace.

to come in the spring. In the meanwhile, I have all winter to figure out exactly how to build it up.

An outstanding Kirk for sure. I going to Joe Bell's this Saturday to see my painted JKS Terraplane. I'm sure I'll see a slew of other fine Kirks waiting to be painted.
Congrats on a beautiful Kirk.

If I may ask, what is a JKS Special Kirk? The JKS Special part.

Not so special,

:) Special Sandy :)

It's a model named after his father. Made with a combination of stainless 953 and other lightweight steel alloys for a lighter racer type frame. Check out his web site as to the history of the frame.

What do you think he'd do if I asked him to make one with fender mounts??

no way anything could be nicer than that, or a better investment. . . I mean, why not spend a little bit on pure unadulterated joy?

. . . is if a Kirk JKS special suddenly fell out of the sky, would you keep it? :D ;)

Climb: guys with the same birthday tend to think alike!! I'd say we should talk about Dave but: his work does the talkin' for him and, in any case, he is just such a genuine humble all around good guy that it would just make him blush in public and turn that color of red you see (how do you think I came up with that color anyways?)

Thanks. I had not looked at Dave's website for a while.

That is really a gorgeous frameset- How could it be anything else, with Dave Kirk building it and Joe Bell painting it. The colors and design are simply superb. Beautiful!

Marco --

I expect to log at least 2,000 miles with that Kirk this season. If you want to join us I guess that'd be OK. Hold on to this one bro.
