Well, it dawned reasonably bright this morning. The snow is gone and the fine sheen of ice from yesterday's freezing rain was gone.

So I decided to head out for a ride and I decided, in spite of the mucky roads to take my newest most cherished baby out for its very first ride.

No, I did not take the Strong, with full fenders and flaps - I took the Luigino.

Let me say, this is a beautiful riding bike - wow!

Simply a dream to ride, like being on a cloud.

The only problem I had was my seat post kept slipping. I had a Chorus Titanium 27.2 post in the bike and could not get it to stop slipping.

By the time I got home the saddle was down 4 cm!

Trying to tighten the binder bolt - it snapped! I took a Campy bolt out of another bike to use and found that a 19 mm bolt is too wide! This frame looks like it needs a 15 mm bolt. I sent an email to Gita, but in the meantime I took a Campy bolt and with some time on the grinder - got it down to where it will work, but I also took the Chorus post out and put a Centaur alloy post in ( not what I wanted, but ...............)

Anyway, back to the bike.

Lovely.

I was the only bike out today.

I took a couple of pictures near home - if Dario sees what I have done to his creation - on day 1 no less - is he gonna' ask for it back???

That's what bikes are made for. Wash it up and it's good as new. :)

First, way cool bike, washing a bike after ride while listening C-span
is very soothing.

Second, I tried a Chorus Ti seatpost in my Kvale, classy bike, classy post,
right ? It kept slipping, put a Nitto in, its fine.

I am sure Dario is thrilled to see his bikes out and about and not merely saved for those perfect days on perfect tarmac.

A fine looking bike, by the way.

You can only ride it through sunny Tuscan skies while smoking.

When I first looked at the non-close up picture of the back of the seatpost I thought that it was part of the paint job of the frame - you know Dario getting crazy with the black ink.

I even thought it made sense as a way to hide the muck - then I looked at the close up picture of the ST and I realized it was muck. LOL.

Gorgeous bike. Carbon Assembly Paste should solve the slipping post problem, it fixed my slipping alum. post in a steel frame.

I've used Campy Ti posts in both of my CSis. Awesome bike by the way.

Well, at the moment the binder bolt is not properly seated.

It's in 3 pieces on my workbench.
