I just rode one for the 1st time this week, and the cranks made a zzrrr zzrrr sound. have no idea if that is how they are or not? it was the wireless carbon version

Nope ... no different than any other crankset.

Is your magnet rubbing the plastic inner portion of the crankset ... there should be a gap. That's all I can think of!

I did not set anything up on this bike, just rode it.

Shouldn't be any louder than any other crank since it has no moving parts.
