Santa is bring me a Hor Catagorie Cross bike but he didn't have a fork for it, so the quest for the perfect fork is on. I would like to race this bike next season and also plan on spending a lot of winter road hours on it. There is one problem that limits my options, its has 1" HT.

Thoughts and opinions on these or other options?

*Alpha Q Carbon

*Wound Up Carbon

*Custom Ti

Thanks,

John..

If you're willing to consider used parts older style Alpha-Q 1" forks always pop up on ebay for around $150 or so, much much cheaper than a Wound-Up or custom. I like my Alpha-Q Cross fork so far, better feel than my previous Ritchey Comp fork, but not as good as the Reynolds Ouzo Pro on my road bike.

I had a wound up disc only wich was a very nice fork. I currently have a ti fork. Im sure u can make a stiffer ti fork than i have but i would go for the wound up or atleast a non ti fork if i was looking for a race fork.

If u want a stiff fork dont get ti. If u want a comfy fork for all day get a ti one.

I had a 1" wound up cx fork once. Nice fork, but the mud clearance was a$$.

I have a F1, I am looking for a Cross Fork.

Depending on your ht length, there might be some 1" F1's on the used market for you, assuming that it's a road fork that you are looking for.

Have someone braze up a nice steel fork. Light steel forks are in the 600-700g range.. and might cost less than those carbon ones.

I've put 1" Wound Up forks on Cross bikes and really like them. Customers seem to too. I ride an Alpha Q on my road bike and its fine, but not remarkable. I like Wound Up in general. They're a little more unique and made here in the states. If you really want to go next level have that baby painted to match.
