Tire Stretch ???

Hey, do tires stretch?

That is, if a kevlar-beaded tire is somewhat difficult to put on rim when the tire is new, will it become easier over time to mount?

Will repeated inflation make the tire a bit (slightly) bigger in diameter?

Or, if I get a flat on the road, will it still be a PITA to fix?

I think it might vary per tire brands. I've been running Hutchison kevlar beads and they a booger to put on the first time, then easier later.

These new ones are Continental Grand Prix 4-Season tires, 700x28, going on Mavic Open Pro rims.

I was surprised how tight they were going on, replacing Vittoria Open Pave tires, which are narrower at 700x24.

I put new tires in the sun for awhile before mounting. Seems to help, especially on Campy rims.

Always seems easier to change 'em (thank G*d!) after some road miles...
