I know the HC was at/near Serotta's top-of-the line bike for a few years (while they existed).

Question: was the HC only a made-to-order frame or did Serotta spec some frames in the 'stock' sizes (typical to other models) for their dealers?

Just curious.

There were both stock and customs built.

Dave,

The Serotta marketing team would like you to call the models by their new titles - ready custom and Legend HC.

Dave - did you give birth to all the HC frames or were they fabricated by other hands at Serotta?

When they start sending checks I'll call them anything they like :)

No..... I built very few. I did all the design and testing and then made the tooling to produce them and then it was handed off to the skilled production staff.

Do you have one?

DKS was/is the most innovative leap in Cycling since the derailleur. ;)

Best bike I have ever owned or ridden - so much so I bought a second one in the exact same STOCK geometry when I had the chance. No regrets.
one fixed, one geared.

The only bike for which I'd consider going back on my promise to not buy another bike.

...maybe it was chain growth?

I was worried about the flex in the rear stays and chainline and the chain not being tight enough...

Not a problem. Nope. None.

I only have 2 bikes I will NEVER sell - and both have DKS rears.

Thanks Dave!!!! Great design - fantastic.
