I now present my recommendation for the Ultimate Fixed Gear road bike. What's that? There's no Ultimate Fixed Gear road bike contest? Well, there should be... :)
This is fixie number 2 for me but I'm thining the herd a bit, so it's up for sale.
1999 Litespeed Vortex, 59cm, 6/4 titanium frame with factory blue paint. Light, smooth, and quick, makes a great fixed gear bike. The White ENO eccentric rear hub allows chain tension adjustment in a vertical dropout frame.
Frame: Litespeed Vortex 59cm
Fork: Time Equipe Pro, carbon blades and crown, CrMo steerer, 1 inch
Headset: Chris King threadless, blue
Stem: Tsunami 120mm, 31.8mm
Bars: Speedmax carbon, 42cm c/c
Brake levers: Tektro R200A
Brake Calipers: Shimano RX-100
Crank: FSA with 45T ring (100 mm BCD)
Front Wheel: Mavic Cosmos, 24 spoke
Rear Wheel: White ENO Eccentric hub laced to Alex R390 rim, 28 spoke, 16T cog and 16T freewheel
Tires: Specialized Mondo 700x23, folding
Seat post: Ritchey
Saddle: Koobi Enduro AU
Bike is ready to ride, needs nothing. Has the freewheel as well as the fixed cog, so fixed or single speed -- the choice is yours!
$1095 plus shipping (actual FedEx Ground shipping charges).
