Mega Sidis?

Is there some way to differentiate "megas" from standard width Sidis? The pair I have came used from the 'bay. I have a D width foot, but have a hard time getting these shoes to fit snug without being over-tight. They're the top-line mtn model from 06 or 07--pre carbon.

I think that the Megas have an "M" next to the size, ie 46M, or M46. Something like that.

WadeP, we have Sidi's, regular and Mega sizes, at the store. I'll check tomorrow, if not satisfied, I can also call the Sidi rep. Back at ya on 10/2.

I got new Megas in February to have room for my esoles. The size is 46 1/2 M on the tongue.

Yep. My Mega 'MTB' Sidis have a 47M stamped on the top of the tongue. That's the only size indicator that is still readable.

If you have a D foot they shouldn't have to be tightened to the end. Sidis are not necessarily narrow, but the standard model isn't designed for the typical fat American foot... Hence the need for Mega sizes.

So I fetched 'em. No "M" to be found. They fit okay, just not as nicely as the Diadora's I've been running so long. They tend to be loose or tight without much in the "perfect zone". Mebbe another insole will help--but then thick sock weather is jest about here!

I think I'll make some calibration marks on them.

I might be wrong but I believe that on the Mega's the plastic piece that the ratchet sits on, is attched to, is grey. It is black on the regular model.

You may be right about the grey on the mega. My 2008 megas have the grey below the plastic and my older non-megas have black. I don't know if the age is a factor though.

The other thing about Sidis, as I understand it, is that the 1/2 sizes are not longer than the full sizes. They have more volume though by being higher. To fit my esoles I moved to mega and to the 1/2 size to get the volume I needed.

Exact same for me. My mid and forefoot are wide, but normal heel. Shimano E's are great. Sidi Megas were sloppy.
