"At €80,000, (that’s just over £60,000 or USD118,000) each bike is hand-built and gold-plated with 24-carat gold, then decked out with over 600 Swarovski crystals."

I think it needs a front brake, as you have to stop quickly in traffic sometimes. And I wonder if the crystals will be damaged when you lock it to a streetlamp.

Dave

P.S. I can't wait to hear BSNYC's opinion on this...

P.S. I can't wait to hear BSNYC's opinion on this...I don't generally read Bike Snob, but I did read today's post (The Indignity of Commuting by Bicycle: The Dignity of Attending a Press Conference), and it was very good.

And it's a B17 at that, with a Sugino crank. This is not a 'no holds barred' buid. Not at all.

so that's why e-richie stopped taking orders for his 'signature' series frames...

I'll be a rhinestone cowboy. But then my wallet says I won't.

I wonder if it's laterally stiff yet vertically compliant?

The B17 is part of my "no holds barred" build!

Looking at the website, I'm thinking that it must be a joke.

the most expensive bikes are the ones that don't get ridden.

I've seen this in audio. There is always a market for the one of a kind.
They could actually have a waiting list for one of these track bikes.
