No Tiger Woods. Americans unable to win the Cup in what seems like forever. Paul Azinger, the Captain for the Americans, with his ten pints of bad blood flowing through his body in personal disdain towards Euro Captain, Nick Faldo.

A rag-tag team of Americans is within a few yards of capturing the Ryder Cup and it's nice to hear the crowd chanting, "USA"; America is reaching the apex of it's Dark Ages as the past seven years since 9/11/01. We've been down, denying the fact that our country is stuck. Recession? Just look at the quantity of anti-depressive drugs in our society today. Perhaps Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke should simply monitor, guage the happy-pill prescriptions to pulse the American economy, then share the data with the President to gather feeback on the War on Terror.

We're running out of heroes, ironic the past few years televison shows such as Heroes, Battlestar Galactica and Lost are the most popular? Or 24, where one cowboy, Jack, will save America and the free world? Unknowingly or well aware, we tune in for an escape which these sci-fi, armageddon, feel-better-shows offer. We're losing, been so for for quite a while, maybe Hayden Panettiere, Captain Adama, Jack Shephard or Jack Bauer have a compass. Even the 1951 classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still has been remade and will be in theaters just in time for Christmas. Indeed, Hollywood has a powerful marketing division.*

Tiger will return next Spring, Lance is ready too, the Chicago Cubs might distract us this Fall and while it'd be nice to see the Americans win this Ryder Cup, today, the real hero will be seen on November 4th, 2008 and he will be wearing # 56.

There's a long way to go with a lot of matches up for grabs. I wouldn't go blaring "The Star Spangled Banner" just yet...
