A friend is looking for something to replace his suspension fork on his Merlin MTB.
1 inch steerer, preferrably with V brake mounts.
ive come across some, incl the pace rc31 but they are for 1 1/8.
Any suggestions?
Alu steerer tube and carbon fork blades is fine.

I think you're out of luck if you expect to find ANY rigid carbon fork with brake bosses suitable for 26" wheels.

Your friend's best alternative is to install a steel fork. Since it's a 1" steerer that's needed, you'll probably have to go custom but that doesn't mean it has to be expensive. I recommend you check out Waltworks because he seems to take pride in building custom forks, the turnaround time is very reasonable, as is the price. A friend of mine had just such a fork built by Waltworks for his aluminum ATB frame, which my friend uses for dirt road riding and commuting. The long, tapered blades almost look as slender as a road fork. My friend is extremely pleased with the results.

They ride great. For $60, try it for a while & if the desire is still there for some more upscale, then choose a top-notch builder (I like the forks Carl at Vicious makes) and get a custom. Then sell the Kona on eBay & get half your money back, or keep it as good-but inexpensive backup.

Just my $.02. And to address the original question directly - sorry, I don't know of any 1" carbon MTB forks, sorry.
