Met SandyMan today for bagels and he like me is interested in the Fierte Carbone. We are quite happy with the bikes we have now but we both feel a need to sniff some glue. So since we both ride almost identical frame sizes we felt that maybe the time has come to own a bike together kind of like sharing a beach house. So what do you think, what won't work about it and how would we split time on this bike.

A friend of mine has gone in halvsies with his brother on Ferrari's over the years - they get along well and both get to experience a neat car.

Since bikes don't have $3,000 shock absorbers - I say go for it!!!

Used is less than half the price of new and you won't have to deal with sharing. Unless you live practically next door to each other, in which case sharing won't be a hassle.

I was gonna ask how much adjustment you'd have to do between users. Then I remembered what you do for your second career. I 'spose you can handle it!

Go for it. One of you will probably like it more than the other and will eventually buy the other half too. In the meantime, sounds like a relatively cheap way to sniff carbon, errr glue.

Actaully we both use the same bars and all we would do is swap out saddle and seat post since I ride a Brooks and he an Avocet. The new carbone Fierte is going sell really well as a cost effective MeiVici without the roids

This could open the door to fractional ownership of $30,000 bikes! Where's that Netjet guy?

Why not ...

Banks do it all the time using fractional reserve banking.

10 people can own the same frn simultaneously !

I knew about the ride. Steve was kind enough to tell me. If I had been riding I would have asked to join you. I really enjoy our metric ride together in P.G. County. Nice ride and very nice cyclists on the ride.

If it was a 4 miler, I might consider it. :)

Be safe!! Have a wonderful ride.
