i made the leap to campy this year after a decade of shimano. i went with chorus 10sp w/ ct ut crank. very happy with the THWAP of the shifts. :D
i can't say that i really enjoy much benefit from the addition of 2 extra gears from my old 8sp DA, but i am really appreciating the system as a whole as i put on more miles.

even better. i'm so glad i changed now instead of putting off one more year. seeing the 11sp campy with the new shifter design, and the electric DA groups, i know i would have procrastinated the upgrade until either 1) electric shifting trickled down to realistic price points or 2) 5 years from now when the new campy shifter design became non-appalling.

you got the spice of life. One bike with Shimano, another with Campy, one with barends...

Wait...I need another bike! I don't have any downtube shifters.

Ha! spice, me likes:

-8sp DT Dura-Ace
-10sp DT Record,
-10sp bar-end Record
-10sp Ergo Record, and
-9sp Dura-ace STI

Which is the best? All! Any top player, when well adjusted, works perfectly.
