Okay, Off centre rim, I get it. But is there a cogent and pressing reason why you should not - must not - use an OCR for a undished wheel, such as for a fixed wheel. Even - gulp - a front wheel (though it would look silly to those in the know).

Is this not reason enough? ;)

One thing to keep in mind is that you'd need different length spokes to keep the OCR rim sitting centred.

(I just re-read that... it sounds double dutch but i think it makes sense!)

I wouldn't call the reason "pressing", but building a wheel using an OCR rim, a wheel that needs no OCR rim, will make a wheel with inherently different spoke tensions on the left vs. right sides, reducing lateral strength.

Probably not a major deal, but I see no practical reason to do this.
