Interesting.

I wonder what keeps the leather from just giving way when you sit on it. On regular leather saddles there probably is some side-to-side tension, but obviously these can't do that. Maybe it's all front-to-back tension in the leather. I looked for pics w/ a view of the lower side but did not find them...

I would not want to get my paradigm stuck in that slot. They look weird, but I would be interested to give one a try. I ride Selle Prolink Gel with the slot. But there is padding around the slot and that just seems right. That unpadded leather slot is another story. First one to try it, let us know.

I agree, let Sandy try it first.

That looks like a bloody, medieval torture device.

video's here (http://mcmwin.com/cycling%20shop.htm#Consumer_Testimonials)

Near middle of page. A camera is mounted under the seat depicting seat being
ridden. One can see the flexibility of the saddle and it's comforming nature.
Looks impressive.

Oh yea. on another page, they guys offer custom Ti cassettes.

On a marginally more content-oriented note, I can't see how messing with a Brooks saddle's hammock could make it better. Anyone who actually rides these saddles (say...me) knows that when the sit bones are back and the rear of the saddle is level, the nose is ever so slightly upwards and the hammock of the saddle receives the least amount of pressure. Why cut out the hammock? Weight? It can't be pressure because that's precisely how these saddles don't work. Hmmm.

Aside from the fact my porn filter nearly fried when I ran their media clips...THAT WAS RUDE.

Yet another lame bit of marketing.

There was a VERY similar effort about 8 yrs. ago. I *think it was called a Tbone or something like that. Got one and it hurt to even sit on the damn thing.

The problem with both designs is that pressure is not graduated smoothly from what is supported to what is ,in effect, hanging in space. This makes for very high pressure and aggressive chaffing at that sharp point of transition and no amt. of breaking-in or butt buttr' is going to help that lot!!!

BEE afraid, be very afraid.

Seriously, why mess with a Brooks saddle if you want to save grammes or look better or for whatever reason? Its like putting a go faster stripe on a Purdey shotgun or a huge spoiler on an old Aston Martin.

I admit to being a bit intrigued. But two other points: they are heavy--the standard Ti B-17 is about 5 ounces lighter than their equivalent B-17 width model. And, apparently, their wonderful dye does come off: check out the letter from Rivendell. Imagining Sheldon Brown out cycling with Grant Petersen is a nice thought anyway--some serious cycling smarts there!

I remember the T-Bone saddle - it was the worst thing I've EVER sat on. How it made it into production is a mystery.
