Anyone have experience mounting a tire larger than 25 C on a 1.1 clincher rim? Their online tech manual says 25C or below, but I'm wondering if I could get away with a narrow 28C or 32C.
Thanks.... :)

It might be worth a try at least, I have the same rims and run 25 Pro2Race and they measure at 26.5 or so. If the bead sits well it may be fine. On OpenPros I run up to 30mm Gran Bois Cypress.
OpenPros Specs:
Cross Section Height: 18.4 mm
Width: 19.6 mm
Weight: 435 g
ERD: 602 mm
DT Swiss 1.1 Specs:
Rim Depth 21.2 mm
Width 19.3 mm
Weight 415 g
ERD 597 mm

The Hampsten folks are running 33.3 Jack Browns on the RR1.1, ask them...

I hadn't realized the DTs were narrower. I have mounted 32mm tires to my Velocity Aerohead rims, which are allegedly 20mm.

I run 28mm Avocets on DT 1.1 - no problemo.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I may try some larger tires than 25 in there with more confidence now..
However, I do think these rims would be better with a lightweight rim strip or plugs than standard VELOX cloth which takes up a bit of the depth...

I have been running some RR 1.1 set up ghetto tubeless with a 2.2 inch mountain bike tire for the last year. No problems.

Same as KonaSS here, those rims work just fine for 29er use. Fat tire away!
