Just to make sure one stupid Q was asked today-- Will a 27.0 seat post work in a 27.2 frame? I'm contemplating a sweet deal on a 27.0 ti post, and have a few bikes in the garage with 27.2 seat tubes. Shims, cheese products, tighten the collar, or anything else to make up the .2mm (it doesn't seem like much)?

Cheers, Chris

Don't do it.

You might get away if you use a shim, but it is really not worth it. The best case scenario is your post will slip. The worst case is the post will be clamped tightly at the top, but wobble in the frame at the bottom of the post, damaging the frame.

I use a shim. And it works just fine. But fwiw, I say get the right size post and just be done with it.

The deal on the seatpost isn't worth the potential headaches. :(

I dont believe there is a commercially available 27.0 to 27.2 shim.
you could try cutting strips from a beer can.
