Newbie to Campy question:

I now have my first Campy equipped bike (10 speed). I think in the next few months it's going to be time for a new chain.
I got a 10 speed Campy chain and in about 10,000 places in the directions they say you MUST use only their chain tool for installation.
True?
I have a Park CT-3 which has always been fine on all my Shimano stuff. No good for Campy? Really?

And does anyone use the Forster SuperLink on their Campy 10? Recommendations?

Thanks

will work fine. I have a Rohloff, expensive but I love it!

Park here also... The Campy one is way too expensive.

Plus three on the Park. Works fine.

Better choice IMO is to get a Wipperman Connex 10S1 link. Despite being marked for use with Wipperman's Shimano compatible chain, this is the correct link for the 5.9mm Campy chain.

I agree with using the 10S1 connex link, if you can find it, but a Forster superlink model 4 or even a SRAm 10 powerloc will work. KMC also makes a link that fits the UN chain, but it's also not easy to find and NOT the same one that works on a KMC chain.

Using a Park CT-3 is OK, but you have to take special precautions. The chain should be draped over the BB shell to eliminate all tension on the chain, while inserting the pin from the left side. You also need to press down on the link while pressing the pin in place, since there is a tendency for the link to lift up. The pin can start in crooked and bend or break the guide pin. I've installed several pins with no problem, but have experienced one failure, using the CT-3.

CT-5 is enough for me. :)

The campy tool itself is a collectiable item but don't know if it works with 11 speed chain?

KMC links on all my bikes, they do Shimano and Campag versions so make sure you get the right one. Work a treat.
