Pedal Question

Is there a point when pedals should be changed. My Look Keos are getting on a bit but the bearings and axles are perfect. The carbon composite platform is a bit worn and there is a little slop even with new cleats (nothing to do with float). Shimano DA or ULTEG pedals have been recommended as a more stable platform and less likely to wear on the platform than the Keos. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Same with Speedplays. I got about 4 seasons out of my Speedplay Zeros before I finally had to replace them.

Interesting … I've had seven years so far out of one pair of Speedplay X2s, five on the other. Both work fine, especially with new cleats, which I replace about every other year.
