Both MKS and Yoshida make slotted cleats to fit standard SPD style shoes. I'm looking for them right now on the Intarwebs for you.

EDIT: Business Cycles has the Yoshida (for Look style bolt patterns) here:
http://www.businesscycles.com/trcomp.htm#pedals

$28.50

There are other places, I'm sure.

Otherwise, you're going to be stuck looking through the NOS listings or maybe for an NJS supplier from Japan. In fact, the latter may well be a good idea. Will look some more...

EDIT #2:
Ben's has an auction for the MKS:

Simon - make sure you scour out ebay. I've seen a few on there from time to time.

Anywhere between 44 and 45 depending on shoe width, I suppose.

You can get cleats for modern shoes, but modern shoes don't fit vintage/classic toeclips.

Bend carefully, and the results are still less than satisfying.

If you find an easily workable solution, please share it. I have a new pair of Sidi road shoes, some workable cleats, and a half dozen sets of pedals that would love to mate.

I would LOVE to share with all, but I'm at a los here. Most of the NOS shoes out there and available are not my size.

I tried riding with a narrow style (I have wide feet) Specialized mtb shoes but my Binda straps keep rubbing against my crank arm. What a PITA!

What doy ou mean by 'Bend carefully'?

Those cost almost as much as my bike!

They are nice looking, though, but geez... do you guys have jobs and disposable income?

I'm retired, on a fixed income with no health insurance, all I can afford is vintage Italian/Belgium steel and the tubies no one wants anymore.

They look awesome! Almost too good to ride OUTSIDE. I checked the site but it doesn't say it has the slotted cleat option.. :crap:

I'm planing to ride on a couple of my old school '70s and '80s bikes on the road soon now that they are almost completely restored...

I mean try as you may, they still wont work, at least for me.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank barry1021 for the NOS Duegi shoes from 1985 that fit like a glove and will enable me to use my toeclips for another 20 years.

Sorry, not trying to rub it in, but my old Sidi titanium's just fell apart yesterday, so the super nice Duegi's will step up. All I've ever ridden are cleats. I've had the Sidi's since 1983, rebuilt once by a shoemaker who I'm sure has left this mortal coil. I can't move the cleats anymore, but they are in the proper position.

I just have to find another Italian shoemaker who will do as good a job as the last one. His work lasted a decade. It was the binding along the top at the heel that broke. That's where they always break.
