Hi,
Does anyone know who makes a 17/73 1 1/8 stem in silver? Could this be cycling's most elusive product?
Thompson, Ritchey, and Bontrager make 17/73 stems in black.
Thanks,
Michael

Oval Concepts make the R700 in 73 degrees and silver. I have one, but I'm not sure who stocks them at the moment.

Oval Concepts make the R700 in silver (with a black bar clamp) in 17/73 and 1 18" (28.6mm) steerer size, in all normal lengths, but only in 26.0mm bar size.
It is, however, not distrubuted anywhere in NA.
I contacted Oval Concepts directly: they can ship you one directly from Switzerland, but shipping is not cheap.
Oval Concepts R700 seatposts in silver are available fairly often on eBay, but I have never seen (since I started looking about a year ago) a silver.
O. C. R700 alloy drop bars are NOT made in silver for ANY market.
Please check your PM for further info.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention 26.0 handlebar diameter.
How could it be that such a fundamental classic doesn't even exist? Short of a custom stem.

Thanks, for the info. Go figure it's not available in North America.
What happened?

I think they just thought it not worth the effort. I told them they should reconsider R700 stem/seatpost distribution in NA.

I forgot to mention: Deda just came out with a silver Zero 100S seatpost to match their silver Zero 100S stem (which is usually combined with the Newton Zero 100 dark grey bar).
The Deda post/stem silver match exactly, the bar is a darker silver/grey, but the bar is available only in 31.8mm, no 26.0mm.
These 3 components are now available all over NA.

Find a NOS Cinelli Grammo Ti threadless stem on eBay. Non-removable clamp, but -17 degree nonetheless.

I just learned of those today. I have a feeling they're a little hard to find. I'll keep an eye out.

The Nitto and the Deda both have an 82 degree angle.
Slight rise.
