Hi, in cannondale bike, size 54cm is mine.. I know 56 is too big for me.. but 55cm I'm not sure, the difference is not too big. so if you look these two geometry : http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/06/geo-613.html (54 vs 55) according to you, it would be too big or not... (I'm 5'10.5'')

thanks

Hard to say from just your height, but I'm shorter than you 5'9.5" and I ride a 55-56 top tube with a 110 stem usually, depends on the angles. I used to ride a 53-54, 10 or more years ago with a 120 stem, but can no longer tolerate the drop and the bigger frame is just more comfortable.

Your height isn't sufficient information for an intelligent comment. All that can be said is the head tube length is 8mm shorter and the reach is 7mm shorter. Both sizes could easily be made to fit the same.

If you want some better advice, you'd need to provide a saddle height and perhaps some information about the TT length, seat tube angle and stem length used on some previous ride. When I buy a new frame, I aways look at the head tube length, with the headset, so I know exactly what kind of stem angle and steering tube spacer setup is required to porduce my desired handlebar height.

54 vs 55.

as you know (probably) the cannondale bikes are usually longer than others.... on my previously bike the geometry was more compact....

I read the geometry chart before I responded. C'dales can't be said to be longer than "others". You have to consider both the TT length and seat tube angle to figure the frame reach. In my size, a 52cm, the Cannondale's reach would be the same as my 51cm LOOK 585.

Unless you post that previous bike's geometry or your body measurements, you'll never get an answer of any value.

would be good to have your previous bikes geometry for comparison and maybe stem length etc
