I'm thinking about taking the ferry over to Yarmouth, NS from Bar Harbor and tooling around a bit. Nothing major or beyond Halifax. Have any of you done this recently? Should I not bother and just stay in Maine? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I just rode from Halifax to Lunenburg, and back. I've never ridden in Maine.

The stretch between Yarmouth and Bridgewater is probably pretty sparsely populated, and is now entering high season. You may want to call ahead to assure accomodations. The coastal scenery is gorgeous, and we had very good luck with the weather. They call it "built-in air conditioning".

I'll also say this about the terrain: it's fantastic. Gently rolling, just enough so you don't fall asleep and can get out of the saddle every once in a while. We exceeded our expected averages by quite a bit.

Road surfaces are a bit rougher than what I'm used to in the U.S. Be very careful and bring good lighting if you expect to be out after dark.
