I know Citizen Zap is for Germany but my rooting interest is for Espania.

I will.

I wanted ITALIA, but now I want Spain, 3:1, no penalty kicks.

Is Ballack out? What about Frings?

Anyway, Spain has the energy and I think Fabregas/Torres/Villa will show up.
My worry is Casillas; that's a ton of pressure....

"Deutschland uber alles" or something like that. It's been awhile since I've watched The Producers.

How interesting would it have been if Turkey, new to the EU and straddling it at the Middle East, had won.

Here's my prediction - Germany will win 2-1. Let's hope it does not go to penalties.

Turkey, new to the EU

Where'd you hear that?

It was a very good game, as finals go. Spain thoroughly demonstrated their class and depth. Sure looked like Germany would equalize in the second half, but there's no way they deserved to win the game. When I saw Metzelder repeatedly looking to distribute outside the Spanish box late in the game it was clear they'd lost the plot. To be fair to Ballack, he was carrying an injury and obviously not 100%.

Fantastic goal by Torres.

Not sure Turkey will ever join the EU.

Good goal by Torres. Hard effort paid off.

No doubt the better team won.
