Brown Saddle?

My cyclocross bike would look great with a brown saddle. I don't want Brooks, and I'd rather not have to pay $200 for the one Fizik makes.

Any suggestions?

You can get a Fizik Arione for about $130 and on the website you can customize it anyway you want. I know they're pricy but you get what you pay for through comfort, aesthetics, and reliability.

Get a white Regal (or any white saddle) and dye it brown.

just by the way, in case anyone thinks Birddog is joking, he's not. . . dying a seat a darker color is easy and works fine. I just dyed a green Brooks black, and it looks great.

That Arione is actually mostly black, with a peanut-butter colored center stripe, as I'm sure you know. I've tried speaking with Fizik (no answer to my emails) and to the USA distributer about a brown version like Rudawakening's, but it's a no-go. At least for a Joe Nobody like me. If anyone out there has any pull with them, speak up...I'm sure we could put together a small group order of those things!

I went with a Fizik Aliante in "Antique Brown" with matching bar tape from Benscycle.net...

To qualify...

Leather seat dying works well. some of the synthetics take the dye and then systematically return it to it's owner...

Depending on your kit, the brown stripe down the middle of your a$$crack may or may not be well taken.

They produced 110 limited edition saddles in brown leather but it's way past the $200 mark

But now, I've already bought a closeout fizik from Nashbar, it is olive green and brown, which just happens to match my bike (with pea green panels) even better than solid brown would. But I'm saving the link for future ref. Thanks.
