The team is making its way across missouri. Had an interesting 45 minute shift riding through a very active lightning storm.

One question I havw for people who hail from the fine state of kansasn why does the wind always come from the east?

Hey Zin, I'm thinking about you and your team as you cross the state.

Now, some very unfortunate news....the wind in Kansas is usually from the south and west in the summer. You caught a not-so-lucky break.

another Kansan and he's right, south and west is the prevailing. Enjoy the Ozarks! Some very pretty (and challenging) terrain down there!

Hope you enjoy your trip through the midwest. I think the wind in
this part of the country is always against you. :)

Welcome to Missouri - I see you'll have a few of our hills. Enjoy the rollers :)

Should have nice "cool" weather (highs in the low 80's) for the next few days.

I've figured out I'm only about 100 yds off your route...between check 40 and 41. If you're still checking here and you or the team need anything, let me know! I work at odd times, so not sure I'll be around. But feel free to give it a shot.

PM sent with my cell also.

Great hearing about your progress. Stay safe. Don't get back too fast, however. My dog and I are only half way through your booze. When he gets drunk, he gets ugly! :)

Nice offer. But from what I saw at Checkpoint #39 each team has 2-3 support vehicles. Of course, they do have breakdowns occasionally so you never know. I read about one team losing a vehicle in previous years and the remaining vehicle had to stay with the rider and call ahead to arrange supplies. So it could happen.

I got a call from Stuart this morning for some supplies that they weren't finding right along the route.

Stuart was riding STRONG! It was great to meet Zin and the team!

I'll try to post a few random pics here from on the road and at checkpoint 41.

It was getting pretty dark, so not my best photo effort, but told Stuart I'd post them and get the word out.

1) Ken
2) Stuart taking a pull
3) Stu busting it into Blanchester
4) Da' man!
5) Check 41
6) Ken getting ready
7) Home...for a while
8) Yum

Louis+1. Those guys are looking like they've been bustin' it across the continent. Great to see the photos and that you were able to help!

Thanks. The "help" was minimal, but just saved them from running around in unfamiliar territory. It was cool to see this all in action. After leaving them I saw 3 more riders/teams on the course as I was heading home. Interesting evening!
