Race Schedules (CO)? (and other Newbie info..)

I've had a strange urge to give racing a try and would like to learn a little more (I know next to nothing). For starters, I'm wondering what days most races are held (in Colorado). I've looked around on line but can't seem to find anything. Can anyone point me the right direction?
Anything I should consider before taking the plunge?
