Ok, enough of that white bike stuff. Show us your yellow bikes. Yes, this is an excuse to show off my newly aquired (from the forum classified) Paramount fixed project, and its yellow CSi younger brother!

Nice. I am still considering paint for my new DeSalvo. I have LeMond's 89' (yellow) bike in consideration.

Here's my Parlee from an angle that makes the bars and saddle look weird:

I like yellow bikes - a lot - so I sold mine. But surely Mike748, that TT sticker says "Campagnolo"?

You are about 2-3 months too early with this thread! I've always wanted a solid yellow bike and thought a Singlo would be perfect...but alas...not to be! I didn't realize that these were "green or blue only" this year and didn't feel like waiting around to see what colors they will add for next year so I've ordered a IF Steel Crown Jewel with horizontal drop outs and 120 spacing....I tried to talk the Serotta people into letting a 7-time Serotta owner bend the rules and get a yellow one but it didn't make much of an impression on them so Indy Fab it will be. I'll get back to this thread sometime later this summer or early fall and post a shot or two....solid yellow frame and fork, NO decals, head badge only, solid black componets is the plan!

I can play.

Late 80's Nova Special X, raced heavily and damaged by a prior keeper, and brought back to life. She is a very quick handler. It is the only bike I've had where I feel like part of the machine.

Hey staggerwing love your ike, Really like the subtle triple with what looks like a staight block-have thought of that myself, bought a campy Vicyory triple and a 12-21 8spd but my lbs convinced me to lose the granny and run a 12-26; also Mark Knopfler and Emmy lou Harris "Staggerwing" great song

still considering it does the gearing work well for you?

Rustychisel... shh, don't tell the bike, it hasn't noticed the defilement. It was all original Campy-8 when I got it but I prefer Shimano-9 shifting so now its a hybrid... Shimano brifters and rear derailleur (and wheels), all else Record. I also have a set of Campy hub/Campy rim wheels for it that I respaced from Campy-8 to Shimano-9. Those plastic cassette spacers machine like butter!

Jeff - working on good pictures of the Paramount. First lot wouldn't focus well... probably that skinny tubing (or maybe the Japanese camera)!

Thanks. Truth told, this bike is more of a happy accident than anything else. Lucked into the frame, via e-bay. Turns out it was local, and people were a little hesitant with the damage history. I figured, 'what the heck' its cheaper than almost all of the Taiwanese frames that were on the radar. The repair was first rate, and a beautiful new paint job was part of the deal. Later, I lucked into a 9-spd Veloce group, cheap, and later yet, the Sugino Alpina triple popped up very inexpensively. I purchased the crankset before I was even smart enough to understand it would work fine with the Veloce, since the group came with a long cage RD, an appropriate FD, and compatible left lever. The wheels where the second pair that I ever built; 2x on front and 2x non-drive, 3x drive in rear. The rear cassette is a 13-23, from Nashbar, again because I could afford it. Lucky again that it is a nice match for the triple.

The Nova was also responsible for my finding this message board. :)

I never knew there was an Emmy Lou song of that name. Very cool. I had the good fortune of growing up at a small airport, and the Staggerwing is simply my favorite production aircraft of all time. Interesting they mention a "Taperwing" in that song too. Another, somewhat rare, biplane from the classic era, built by Waco, of Troy, OH. A long time family acquaintance has a 1929 example, although, far from stock with a giant 450HP Wright up front.

Not a Serotta, but one of my favorite frames of all time, check out the nicely thin lugs:

I flipped this one today that Mrs Z grabbed from the trash last year (yes, she asked the homeowner).

I got two Veloflex Crits for it (plus glue)!
