Thinking about getting a compact Force or Red crankset. My shoes tend to rub on the cranks. Will this be a problem on the carbon crank arms?

Use a mm or two pedal axel spacer and get rid of this problem.

my sidis wore a shallow groove into a set of record carbons--still have them (cranks, not sidi), still are fine. no one noticed unless they squatted next to the bike.
on one bike my heel sometimes hit my chainstay too--usually when i was tired. i'm about to try keo carbon pedals for awhile, which have far less flaot than speedpaly, so i'll see how it goes. but since switching shoes to pro carbons i don't hit or rub anymore
