I have been on my new tubies for about 2 weeks and hear a noise that is enitrely new to me. Upon rotatation of the wheel while seated on the bike the tires make a tacky squish noise in certain points of rotation. I believe it to come from the tire/wheel bed. Is this noise from too much glue in one area or not enough ? Maybe something completely different. Just curious as it isn't driving me nuts.....yet.
Thanks for the wisdom yet again.

I've been riding tubies forever, and had this same problem from time to time. The squish noise is the tire moving against the rim - you have a section that has a bad bond. Over time you will see little balls of dirty rim cement appear on the sidewall where the tire isn't properly bonded.
It's worth it to re-glue the entire tire, or if you're really lazy, just a section that is bigger than the bad bond area. There's little immediate danger of rolling a tire if the bad areas are pretty small.
Cheers!

because the glue stays tacky when the tire moves around it makes that squish noise. your tire could be glued better.
What?

This is typically an issue near the valve stem. The tire can have a high spot around the stem and it won't want to seat well here and each time you roll over it it stick and unsticks resulting in the noise you hear. Frustrating.
You can fix this by being sure there is enough glue to fill the small void there and you should roll in silence.

That used to happen to me too. It goes away after a while but its best to reglue that section.
Now I ride the tubular for a short ride around the block immediately after mounting it to let the glue set. No shard turns or anything. No more squishy sounds for the last few tires I have mounted.

All good suggestions. It was as I suspected and there is one spot on the wheel that didn't get the appropriate amount of glue.
Thanks for all the great reponses

I have the same thing with my front tire. If the tire is pumped up above 100 psi it doesn't make the noise. I haven't bothered re-gluing it yet.
