Anybody have any good solutions for replacing a missing stem top cap (old style, threaded). I noticed mine was MIA yesterday.

Did you recently have your bike in the trunk of your car? Maybe it fell off there and is hiding somewhere in the trunk.

Go to a hardware store and look through the various plastic and rubber grommets they have available. You should be able to find something to at least plug the hole until you can get something better.

Tell us what kind of stem it is and maybe someone on the forum has one in their spare parts drawer and will send it to you.

Buy a used stem on ebay just for the cap?

Ask at some bikeshops if they have one.

Is there a recycle a bike type organization near you?

Don't even think of liberating one from a bike you see parked on the street! (Even if that's what happened to yours.)

I've used wine bottle corks.
