Colorado CR?

I am wondering what the difference was between the CR and the CL. What does CR stand for? On the BB of the bike I am looking at it is stamped CR54L and below that 301030 does that give any ideas about the model and build date?

It is 54cm ctc on the seat tube but the top tube is 55cm ctc is that what the 54L indicates because it is not a 54 "square"?

My understanding is that the "L" designation after the frame size on a Serotta indicates that the top tube is 1cm longer that a stock geometry top tube. I.e. a stock 54cm frame would have a 54cm top tube. An "L" version would have a 55cm top tube.
