Any suggestions for a stem for a 31.8 bar but fits a 1" steerer?
If you know of anything, or even have one at home you're not using, ;) let me know. I have a couple of possibilities, but nothing that's exactly what I'm looking for. I'd like an 80 or 82 degree, 120.

Thanks!

They all fit a 1" steerer with a reducer bushing. For quite awhile, most 1-1/18" stems came with the bushing, but now most don't. I've got quite a few laying around.

Search for "steerer shim" and you'll find them. I used a Thomson aluminum shim to reduce my 1-1/8" stem to a 1" carbon steerer. I think they are still packaged with Ritchey WCS stems.

Chose the one you like and that meets your budget

Ritchey, Thomson, Deda, they all usually come with a shim for using on a one inch, (if not the LBS probably has shims left over from an install. majority of new frames are the inch and an eighth.

Thanks for the info. I have two bikes with 1" steerers, but not all shims fit depending on stack height. Certain stems say they include a shim, and certain stems say that they only fit 1 1/8. Does this mean that not all stems include a shim?

Thanks!

The stems I have came with them.....Let us know what you are trying to use and I will get an answer for you. THe shim fits in the stem (flush) of the ones I have,

I'm not too particular about the brand, but I do need one that's an 80 or 82 degree and 120. If you have any suggestions, I'd be interested. I've searched online and found some that fit 1" and the OS bar, but don't say whether a shim is included, and I've found some that fit all the criteria except the right angle. Seems like 84 is the norm.

Thanks!

I have had good luck with RITCHEY stems. IF they work and you do not get a shim let me know and i will send you one. PETE

I am having this problem as well. I'm seeking not to use any shims, just for the ease of it. Does anyone one know of a stem that's (on the very off chance) made to fit a 1" steerer and 31.8 bars??

Thanks for the help!

maple story mesos (http://www.ugamegold.com/c_Maple-Story-Mesos/) “It’s more to feel like you got a trophy for doing something special, but in no way would this increase your character power. We didn’t want to force you into weird sorts of gameplay that you wouldn’t be doing anyway; we wanted it to more be sort of a reflection of what players were already doing.”

What's so difficult in using a shim?
No modern stem comes in 1" as far as I know.

Gotta love the shims. I can use a stem from a 1 1/8" steerer tubed bike on a bike with 1" steerer tube. That's what I did on my new-to-me CSi with a 1", threadless steerer tube.

I keep a bunch of shims around in various heights (most lbs' probably do as well).
