considering one of these and would like to see examples of how other have done it. something like this, but with much longer steerer clamp rather than spacers:

Not quite what you're looking for but this might give you an idea if you can visualize the stem/spacer extending lower to a length that you may be thinking of. It's a custom Seven Ti stem with a 15MM Ti spacer of the same diameter.

yes, dave that is in the ballpark. brent steelman and doug curtiss curtlo are open to creating customs along these lines.
