Not bicycling related, but Robert Mondavi was a giant in the wine world; one who truly changed the face of California wine making.

Have not had any of his wines in years! US stuff just way too expensive here. What wines from him I do remember though were very fine indeed. RIP

Robert Mondavi was hand in hand responsible, with Julia Child, for bringing the US into the modern food and wine world, as we know it. They were the first to make a mark in the food and beverage field, that were American...apart from the French and Swiss.

No Julia and Robert...No Food Network.
