So I did a little searching, and found nothing.

Any hidden treasure troves of these or even information on who made/makes them? Including rims.

I've not seen 650B tubulars and I suppose I've been looking at this wheel size for a good long while.

I'd love to here your findings, valued researcher....

Is it that they were never made? They haven't been made in too many years? Can we blame eastern Europe siding with the Russian bear? Did a penguin eat them all? Is it an embargo from Pluto now that we voted them out of planethood? I can't imagine that not just the two of us are looking for them.

Why none? I mean record nerds find copies of all but non-existent records in some basement or flea market on a regular basis. Why are there no 650B tubulars?

Neither Conti nor Vittoria make any 650b tires.

I think you should make some 650b tubular wheels. ;)

650b tubulars were last made in the 30's, atmo.

i have no digital camera but i have the tyre here so........
also i make 650 b wheels! tubular wheel! (that 571 mm)

584 mm 650B, 26 x 1 1/2 for clincher

but becuase we talk about tubular we have another bead size
"571 mm"

the differance between B and C is the width!

B stands for ballon i really do not remember the french word for C

becuase this is old french standard 650 B -C-A -D

That was then, this is now. 650C is 571 in ERTRO sizing; 650B is 584 in ERTRO sizing. The two are very different, and the rims are most definitely not interchangeable.

Jeez this still now.
I recommend you to look at how the rims are defined in erto specs.
And 650B is 584 for clincher and not for tubular!!
584 is bead size for a clincher and since the size defined for tubular is differant you have to take another size!
and that ius 571.
Example a tubular wheel 27 inch is bigger then 28 " clincher wheel this has to do how its defined in the old days.

Hence that is what i have learned at my fietsenmaker education!

And whats more in important that also what the old conti people explained to me many many many moons ago
(they have invented the tubular)

I am more than willing to be incorrect and corrected by those who know more than I do.

Ada, are you saying that the tubular 650 size is one size without letters, or that there is no A/B/C designation in tubular sizing for the 650? Yes? That by putting wider tires on a 650 rim, you get the same size as a 650B clincher? And that the size in tubulars for 650 is 571?

That might be why I never found anything! If you don't know what to look for, you can't find it.

correct the 650 is for the tyre in height (571 is for the rim bead)

and A/B/C/D is for the width of the tyre wich that is not the case for tubular since its a code for clincher!
