Your_Friend!,

If you are referring_to

The cheesy earplugs which come

With an iPod, they are not

User_friendly and you should

Buy SONY earplugs. I did_twice.

I like'm and they didn't break the bank. I thought earbuds had no bass whatsoever and these sound much better. Here's a link to Sennheiser's description. (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite/productdetail.asp?transid=500830)

Not certain about wind noise at bike speed but it blocks out the other people and conductor's announcements on the Metro very well. I haven't noticed any wind noise when I'm walking around. One thing I just thought of... if the cord gets smacked hard enough, you'll hear it in the pods.

My brother worked in a stereo store in high school and brought home some Sennheiser head phones there were great. These were the big disco style phones, not the ear buds.

How much do the Sony cost?

There is a small piece of plastic on the chord. This is a slider. Put the ear pieces into your ear and slide the plastic up to near your skin...this will keep the earpieces snugged lightly against the bottom of your ears.

Yeah but you can't get the boomin' base out of em. What if I want to play NWA?

Ultimate Ear makes a set of ear buds that are very bass heavy.

Good luck,

I use the cheaper Sennheisers.

I like that they can't fall out. They position the buds perpendicular to your ear. You will get some wind noise. You will hear cars.

I use these for riding. I'm sure they are not the choice of those that are really into their tunes.

iPod plugs suck immensely. They electro-shock the hell out of your ears when wet. Sony with ear loops are fine. Or else:

i've got a real nice pari of etymotic research buds, and while I am not a pod-listening rider, I would DEFINITELY not use these, they really block out all sounds and it would be super dangerous to use them on the bike. I might opt for something not too expensive, cause if you go for the high end you might not hear anything and that includes sirens, honking, rabid dogs, etc.

Those, along with Ultimate Ears, Etymotic Research and Westone all have their fans. This site ( http://www.earphonesolutions.com/bestheadphones.html ) sells them all and might be a source
of useful information for you. (Keep in mind that the higher end you go, the more likely it is that your headphones
will reveal the flaws of the medium used to record the music you're listening to.)

Good luck!

These are not fancy but I have had good luck with them. 3 sizes of earpieces included so you can find the one that blocks noise the best. Mostly, they are cheap... jLab buds (http://www.amazon.com/JBuds-Hi-Fi-Noise-Reducing-Buds-White/dp/B000I68BD4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3_s9_rk?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&s9r=8a585b4314f36a4401152b0634270888&itemPosition=3&qid=1210282378&sr=8-3)

Just be sure to put the cords inside your helmet straps... no wait, outside?
