Yeh, I gave y'all a whole day without me!

I took some time off, worked on the house and went for a bike ride. While I was out I saw an ice cream truck in the distance and for a few minutes I felt like a pro working their way up to the pack, pulling in behind the follow cars and sprinting past them when I thought I had a chance.

My birthday also means that I get to drive some form of sports car - it's a tradition started when a friend pulled up to my house in a formula ford needing to borrow some tools. This year it was a Lotus - we're gonna need better roads if this tradition keeps up. Sandy, how are the roads in your area?

Bart, I'll be back in Belmont next week. I'll take you up on that beer, maybe even get the ball rolling on a few forum rides this year.

Coo TiD;

Next year, come up north for the ride, and we'll take the MG out for a spin!

Sounds like a fine day -- a belated congrats.

So which lotus?

Ti Designs

So which lotus?

The new Elise. How do non-skinny people get into that thing? My race car has Konig autocross seats which make getting in or out a workout, but it's still easier than getting into the Lotus. I've driven a number of Lotus (what's the plural of Lotus?), from the Europa with a Ford 351 to a Super 7 with a Mazda 13B turbo+nitrous, they all have their quirks. The Europa's throttle is rod activated, which runs under your heel and the footwell is tiny. Once in a while the throttle doesn't return (cause your standing on the rod) and with that kind of horsepower it causes some issues. The Super 7 has severe understeer in second gear when the front wheels lift off the ground. The Elise seemed tame...

Rob, who said I didn't come north??? Y'all just need to call in sick from work on those days with perfect weather more often.

Resurrecting a dead thread? How do we ressurect a "dead" guy? Well, who ever re-animated you, you've got another B-Day so enjoy! :beer: I would tell you to go out and get a good ride...but you probably already have or are set to do it anyway. So instead, get out in your hot rod and do some donuts in a parking lot!! :banana:

Enjoy! :banana:
