Dumb STI Question...

When installing the brake and shifter cable housing into the back of the STI levers, are you supposed to have an end cap on the housing??

I highly suggest it. If not, the plastic will eventually ride up exposing the coil.

Correct. If you put on an end-cap, the cable won't go all the way into its seat. Ultimately, especially with a plastic end-cap, it'll crimp and work its way down into the seat but mess up the cable.
