View Full Version : Astana to compete in one of the Grand Tours

Well it looks like Astana will get to do at least one of the grand tours this year. I was just reading on CyclingNews that Astana gets Vuelta nod (http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?id=news/2008/apr08/apr30news). I still think they should have been allowed to compete in the TdF.

I think Astana should be glad that TDF Champion Alberto Contador who is from Spain is on their team. Without that, Astana would not be participating in the 2008 Vuelta a Espaņa as well. I think if the champion was French or Italian the Tour or Giro wouldn't be so quick to exclude Astana.
