Bought a 170/UT 50/34 aluminum Veloce (in black) from Western Bike Works. Am pleasantly surprised at the high level of fit & finish on the Veloce. http://www.westernbikeworks.com/search_results.asp?rs=p&mfg=ca&cat=cr&so=p

Here's the 50/34 in 172.5mm...

Is it the 36 chainring that is hard to find or the 172.5mm?

As I recall, the 50/36 is only an option for Record this year. I bought a 36t ring last year from Cyclesbikyle and replaced a 34t with it.

On a related note, the instructions for the crankset said that only a Campagnolo Service Center can replace chainrings on a carbon crankset, because they have "special equipment" to test and ensure that the chainrings stay flat. That got me all paranoid, and it looks as though the outer chainring on my Centaur (pre-UT) carbon cranks (on which I'd replaced the chainrings) is not moving on flat plane by a hair, almost the way a wheel looks when it's slightly out of true (if I adjust the front derailleur close enough, it will touch the chain at one spot of the revolution). Is this a legit concern? Did I f*** up something, and if so, what - the chainring or the crank itself?

Every time I get to the point that I think I can turn my own wrenches, I learn a new way to do something wrong atmo.

Regards.
Tom

Purchased a Chorus ut carbon 50/36 from lickbike.com Not sure about the centaur. Let us know if you find one. Could try Probikekit.com too. Good luck.

This link says the 50/36 is not an option. You can always buy a separate ring, but it sure jacks up the price.
