I recently posted a thread with pictures of my TA Carmina crankset here (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=43787&highlight=Carmina) with the inner ring having sheared off a bolt, and the others working loose.

I got a replacement set of TA supplied bolts from my trusty constructeur.
On inspection they again looked too short.

I then spoke with Peter White who told me that TA had shipped a batch of too short chainring bolts and they were replacing them, along with any spiders that had been damaged.

If you have a newish set of TA cranks and rings go give your little ring and the bolts in particular a once-over.

The parts you save may be your own!

WOW !!!!

Does this apply to older TA Zephyrs too ????

No excuse for this kind of malfeasance. Lives are at stake.

As far as I know this is a relatively recent issue.

It involves the smaller bcd bolts only.

No acknowledgement of this problem that I can find on the TA website.

For now I've got a set of Sugino bolts in there that look just fine.
