Chain Repair

Just returned from a ride and broke the chain during the ride. Repaired it with a chain break in my tool bag and it seemed to work fine. Was about 1/4 mile from the end of the ride and it broke again. Is that typical? I'll add I've only seen it done before so this was my first try. Comments?

Buy a new chain. You don't want that one snapping again while sprinting, going up a hill etc, etc. That's a good way to get yourself very hurt.

Peace of mind for about 30 bucks.
