The guys at CC seem never to have heard of King Cage. Their SS model weighs less and is nearly half the price.

...and looks just the same as the 5 dollar cages in the bargain bin at any LBS.

I won't pay $160 (http://www.competitivecyclist.com/road-bikes/product-accessories/2008-campagnolo-record-carbon-water-bottle-cage-793_49_TRUE.html) for carbon for the sake of it but I will pay $25 for sweet design.

But are the $5 cages stainless steel or cheap alumninum that won't hold you bottle and marks it up?

I believe all AL will mark .... eventually ...

I had Cheapo SS before the King Ti and they mared too.

Check out VeloOrange for SS cages ....

The King Ti's ae like liquid plastic.

Right on :)

Ron (or his wife) answers the phone when you order, cheaper than all but the generic SS cages. Get the Iris if you want something a bit different (sadly now being copied but sold for about the same price). I don't understand why more folks aren't into King Cages... FWIW aluminum cages blacken bottles when the finish wears off and the alloy starts to oxidize (dirt too). Stainless cages just rub the dirt into the bottles if the cage isn't kept clean.

DarrenCT, as attractive as the Arundel stainless steel models are, I'm very tempted to replace the aluminum ones with them. They're a cool-looking cage, too.

If their stainless cages work even 75% as well as their carbon ones for positive clamping and no vibration or lost bottles then they will be great.

I love my carbon Arundels on my road bikes. I wish I'd seen these before I settled for an Elite cage for the fixie.

Couldn't be more right! I have had them (King) since they first came out on the market. Haven't lost a bottle yet and they look pretty nice as well. Beauty is, after all, in the eye of the beholder.
