Valve core removal

What's the best way to remove a threaded valve core that doesn't have two flat sides? (I have a $1.50 Tufo valve core removal tool that works for that type which works great.)

only a small amount of c4 though. it needs to be shaped so that you don't knock the wheel out of true.

Assume you ment presta? Pair of plyers. The valve cores are not screwed in very tight and this is a pipe thread not fine...should come out easy.
