I have a small (trivial is probably more correct) request...

My trusty silver 24-oz Specialized Big Mouth water bottle has died.

I want to replace it, but the four LBS I contacted do not stock them. I easily found them online, but they won't ship this item...not sure why. Now, I know it's just a water bottle and almost any should serve my purpose, but I want this specific one for some obscure reason.

Would someone be willing to purchase TWO of these (Specialized logo, no shop logos, please) and send them to Austin, TX for me?

I can paypal (or send a check to ya) for the bottles, shipping, and toss in a few bucks for your kindness.

Link to photo of this elusive bottle...

Thanks in advance.

Can't you order them from the Specialized website?

I have to chuckle as we have several of these bottles in white and clear which have to be about 20 years old. Numerous miles on the bikes and countless soccer matches later, they still perform.

Be careful, I bet he sends you a check for $5,000.00, tells you to keep $1,000.00 for the bottle and your troubles and send the rest to his account in Nigeria.

Hey Chad,

in the future you can pick them up locally. I know Southwest Cycle Sports (one location near Beecaves & 71 and one in Cedar Park) keep them. Ozone Bikes on the Drag used to have them also. I would be very surprised if Bicycle Sport Shop doesn't keep them. They are the 900lb gorilla Specialized shop in town (two locations).

hope that helps,
